RALEIGH—Progress NC Action today called on Gov. Pat McCrory to end his silence and answer questions regarding his role in a growing scandal that has triggered a State Board of Elections investigation. It has been 14 days since the Associated Press published a story quoting McCrory’s spokesperson as saying the Governor met with proponents of the sweepstakes industry. The Governor refused an interview. That is not enough. McCrory must answer the following questions:

1) Which representatives of the sweepstakes industry did McCrory meet with and when?

2) What did they talk about?

3) Who were McCrory’s clients at the law/lobbying firm Moore & Van Allen?

“It it time for McCrory to be forthright with the people of North Carolina,” said Gerrick Brenner of Progress NC Action. “Until he does, Progress NC Action will continue to count the days since his evasion began.”

Gov. McCrory will meet with the Council of State this morning at 9am at the Administration Building in Raleigh. Now is the time for the Governor to start answering questions.
