UNC System President's Appointment Wasn't Transparent, Students Walkout
Across the state students, faculty, and staff walked out of classrooms on Tuesday to protest the shady appointment of Margaret Spellings as the UNC System President. Spellings track record shows that she will look out for the interest of companies and the interests of her students.
A coalition of students, faculty, staff and community members walked out of their classrooms and workplaces at campuses across the state Tuesday to protest when Margaret Spellings officially takes over as president of the UNC System.
Spellings, who served as secretary of education for former President George W. Bush, was elected last fall by a Republican-dominated board.
