Pope's stance on environment should motivate NC for change
The discussion on climate change had reached an impasse, despite mountains of scientific support and reasoning, skeptics continue to deny it. However, that may change due to a recent announcement from Pope Francis, charging people to take climate change seriously. His plea, a moral one rather that scientific one, may be the change North Carolina needs.

“We are not God,” the pope wrote. “The Earth was here before us and has been given to us.”
Francis’ letter is significant not for how it approaches the facts, but for how it changes the context. He has turned the climate argument from a political debate to a moral one. Defenders of burning fossil fuels and global-warming deniers will find a moral obligation harder to dismiss.
