ICYMI: Phil McCrory "Explains" How a Partner Isn't Really a Partner

In a bizarre column in the Charlotte Observer, which was also sent to Governor McCrory's email list, the Governor's brother, Phil McCrory, tries to "explain" why Governor McCrory was repeatedly described as a "partner" of McCrory and Company to clients, while maintaining that Governor McCrory was never actually a "partner" in the business.

The column, which ludicrously refers to Progress NC Action as the "partner in crime" of the Charlotte Observer, is another reminder that Governor McCrory intentionally mislead people about what his true role at McCrory and Company was. As we included in our ethics complaint, the Governor's intentional ambiguity allowed him to skirt important disclosure questions, including whether or not his brother's company has material business with the state of North Carolina.
